June 2006 Home Leave in USA

We had our bi-annual Home Leave for almost 6 weeks from Memorial Day Weekend through July 12th, a much needed break for us. The first week was in Floyd County Virginia, the next one in Vestal, NY, and the rest in Berkeley. Zoe was a better traveller than Emily who developed bronchitis for 16 days through the entire NY portion alas. We managed to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown which was a highlight for Pete, but temperatures in the 40s and overcast skies as well as Emily's health kept us from having more outings.






Then to California where we stayed at our old house with Hugh and Chih Hui, and were well taken care of! Andrew even came for a visit at the end of his US Tour. Went to baseball games, camping in the Sierras, ate dim sum and Pete biked as often as possible.
