November 2005 Thanksgiving in New York

Zoe and I flew to Binghamton on November 16th and visited my parents for a while. While there, Zoe tasted her first turkey and her first snow on Thanksgiving Day. Hamming for the camera, Zoe loved to show how she can snap her fingers- as you can see.

November 2005 Pete goes to Nepal

Pete went to Nepal on business and extended his trip to include a bit of vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday.

November 2005 More Virginia

Then off to Grandma Bonnie's in Hillsville, Virginia, another beautiful country home just near the Blue Ridge Parkway. Fred showed us his vintage Chevrolet collection, though he wasn't ready to let us take her for a spin just yet!

We also visited Mount Airy, the original Mayberry in the Andy Griffith Show! Here we are at the Snappy Diner!

November 2005 Emily and Zoe visit East Coast!

Well, I decided that Summer 2006 was too far away, and Zoe's grandparents needed to see her in this fun stage. So Zoe and I took 3 and a half weeks and flew to Floyd, Virginia to see Pete's parents, then to Binghamton, NY to see my parents. All went well on our 22 hours in the air, and we arrived in Roanoke Virginia on November 16th, beautiful sunny weather.

We visited Grandpa Pete at the Castelli Plantation in Floyd County, just outside Blacksburg, Virginia. Some fall colors remained, and Zoe enjoyed playing in the dead leaves outside - such rare fun for her! Grandpa showed her how to drive the golf cart around the Back 40, and Scrappy the terrier was a never-ending source of fun.
