Sri Lanka Days

Pete and I and our new baby Zoe made the big move to Sri Lanka on October 30th, 2004. Pete was offered a challenging new career with the AFL-CIO Solidarity Center, covering India and Sri Lanka. We decided it was an offer we could not pass up.

July 2005 - Our New House in Colombo

On July 1st we moved to a new rental house, as we were tired of the military presence and barricades outside our gate. Soldiers with machine guns were placed there to protect the LTTE's number one most wanted minister, Mr. Devananda, whose house backs on our street.
This house is brand new, never lived in, and far more comfortable.
